Lumbar Interbody Fusion

download Dr. Aryan TLIF Surgery Information (to be reviewed by patient prior to surgery)

An "Interbody Fusion" is the uniting of two bony segments, whether a fracture or a vertebral joint.  This can be done with or without the use of interbody cages.  In time, normally within 4 months, the bone grafts will unite with the vertebrae above and below to form one piece of bone.  There are many different types of interbody fusion, as listed above.  Dr. Aryan will suggest what procedure is right for you.
